Get the necessary materials for your Bubble elevator to get started: two Soul Sand, two Magma Blocks, and at least two Water Buckets. Both the Magma Block and the Soul Sand produce bubbles in your water elevator that cause you to ascend or descend, respectively.

Although we created the sides of our elevator in the instructions below using glass, you can use any building materials you prefer. Both the Soul Sand and the Magma Blocks are required to create the up and down currents in the elevator, respectively. Although it is not necessary, having two Water Buckets reduces the number of trips that must be made. To finish the elevator, adhere to the stages below.

Step 1: Construct the Walls

You may construct the walls of your elevator out of any kind of block. To make it simpler to watch the process, we utilized glass for ours.

The elevator walls’ fundamental pattern is shown in the image above. Build up a ring around a portion of vacant two-by-two blocks. Your elevator may be built as tall as you wish, even to the height of the building.

Step 2: Create the Base

This stage consists of two components. On one side of the elevator, you must first construct a two-block-high by a two-block-wide archway.
Once you’ve done that, hang signage on the archway’s outside as seen in the picture above. The water that you will be placed in Step Three will be held in by these indications. In total, you’ll need four signs.

You must also place the Soul Sand and Magma Blocks as part of this step. Use the example in the image above to guide you as you continue. Place two Soul Sand blocks and two Magma Blocks on either side of the water elevator’s very bottom.

This will provide a smooth transition between riding in the elevator and going up or down. Even yet, if you want to give your elevator a little cleaner appearance, you may split these two pieces.

Third step: add the water

For this phase, you need a lot of water source blocks. Take two Water Buckets and set them where the Magma Blocks and Soul Sand are. Place one Water Bucket on any of the four foundation blocks, and the other one on the corner block opposite it. You may use this to build an endless water supply from which to draw water for the subsequent level.

Repeat the previous process from here on each level of your water elevator. This is due to the fact that the Soul Sand and Magma Block bubbles only function on Water Source blocks and not on flowing water.

After doing all of this, you will have a straightforward (and effective!) functional bubble elevator. If you want to improve the aesthetics of the elevator, you may change the blocks around it. The Magma Blocks and Soul Sand must always be found at the elevator’s base, though. Additionally, each level must include a Water Source block.
